When I am out speaking at an event or conference (or drinking a carmel macchiato at Starbucks) I usually take a minute or two and ask some folks what their favorite app is. I have picked up some pretty cool apps from asking around and wanted to pass on the top 7 apps I use the most on my iPad.
1. Pages
I can move outlines from the cloud to my computer to my ipad without any problem. Love this app!
2. Upad
Since I started using my iPad to speak from this is the app I use. I create my documents in pages then save them in a pdf and open them in Upad. Once my notes are open in Upad I can underline, highlight, erase, add notes...all with my finger. Any last minute inspiration I get, even up to just before I speak, I can jot down and use. For the last two years I have only had this app lock up on me once and had to pray my way through the talk.
3. AccordanceBible
I have been using Accordance Bible Software on my Mac for years. Now that they have an app, I use that too. The notes I make within the program on my computer sync with my ipad so if I highlight on my iPad it will show up on my computer. Nice feature. Another great Bible app is Olive Tree.
4. GoodReader
Since going paperless a year ago I keep all of my manuals and other notes for reading in GoodReader. I use both Goodreader and Upad since there are a few unique features in each each app that I like.
5. HootSuite
Love Hootsuite for the iPad. I like the layout and has easy to read columns in landscape mode. Makes scheduling your tweets easy.
6. Keynote
I use the keynote app for creating presentations, brainstorming, speaking and just about anything else you can think of. The ability to attach an HDMI cord to the bottom and project to a TV or from a projector is a great feature.
7. Omnigraffle
Omnigraffle is a great tool for brainstorming and diagraming pretty much anything you need. From an organizational chart to a theme for your next event.
